SBL 13S - Triumph Spitfire Mk IV Sebring GT Hardtop

This is Andy Sollis' Mk IV Spitfire with Sebring GT Hardtop. Andy is very active in the Triumph Sport Six Club and loves his W&P hardtop, even comissioning a bespoke t-shirt logo with his car on it.

In Andy's own words:

"I purchased the car from a dealer in Preston in July 2009 after seeing the advert on E-bay. Initially, I planned to remove the roof once I had a new boot lid, but this has still not come to fruition, so the roof remains on.

Whilst we discussed the cars and the roofs at Stafford, it became apparent that we call suffer from the same problem of the roof streamlining brining in exhaust fumes from somewhere ? We do not know if it is in via the boot or back around when the windows are down, but I seem to have reduced this with my 1500 (standard exhaust) by adding a £12 tail pipe extension to the back box, thus moving the exhaust further back in the air flow. It does hurt your ankles when you forget when going to the boot however!".

Andy has subsequently made contact with the previous owner of the car who acquired the Sebring GT hardtop, Paul Pratt, who bought the hardtop on ebay and had it fitted to the car. At that time the hardtop was is in its original black gelcoat, but the dealer in Preston sprayed it red, which Andy prefers.

Many thanks to Andy for the use of his photographs and text.
