The Deep Sanderson 105 "Twinny" was a twin engineed single seater Formula Junior race car built by Chris Lawrence in 1961. Powered by two Downton tuned A Series 1071 cc engines it has four wheel drive and is a famous if unusual sixties racer. The car has been recently restored by Chris Lawrence and was raced at Goodwood in 2008.
W&P built the alloy body for Chris which completely lifts off the chassis for ease of access to the two engines.
Chris Lawrence comments:
"The Deep Sanderson 105 twin engined single seater was entirely Charlie's work, no egg box (buck) from us. The Mini engines are inconveniently tall for a single seat car with no prop shaft so his solution for the shape of the car was extremely successful and in my opinion one of his very best efforts." |
