Sebring GT fronted Spridget Register

at Goodwood 2006

In January 2010, including the 5 fully bodied Sebring GT cars and 8 Aussie Lenham GT cars, there are 47 Sebring GT fronts known currently to the Register to exist worldwide, 37 fitted to cars, 10 in storage / being repaired, plus 3 "lost" fronts.

There are several Lenham Fastback and Lenham Le Mans coupes with Sebring GT fronts (in addition to the 3 cars on the register) - this was a favourite period combination, perhaps due to Twyford Auto Conversions, the Lenham main agent in the late 60s, also being a W&P agent, as shown below from these pictures in Cars and Car Conversions Magazine August 1969 - (this car survives in Australia):

There are also at least eight Lenham Le Mans coupes with Sebring GT fronts in Australia, plus John Shepherdson of the Lenham Spridget Register has just acquired a spare front for a future Lenham GT project. Please see the Aussie Lenham "GT" link page.

A car was run at Goodwood 2006 prepared by Rae Davis which was described as an "Ashley GT" but which actually had a W&P Sebring GT front (see image at the top of this page), with a modified Ashley hardtop.

There is a loose Sebring GT front in storage in the Midlands. Another Midlands racer has recently acquired a damaged Sebring GT front with a view to creating a new complete Sebring GT car.

A loose Sebring GT front has also been located in Denmark, which may be added to a Mk I Sprite project in due course. In addition to this, there is a blue 1970 midget in Denmark with Sebring GT front which we hope to add to the Register soon.

Nick Handford has a Sebring GT front on his 1969 Sprite which is currently in storage.

There is a well known green sprint / hillclimb Sprite in the Austin Healey Club with Sebring GT front which we hope to add to the Register shortly.

There is a green midget based near Barrow-in-Furness with a Sebring GT front that we hope to add to the Register shortly.

The owners of a UK car with a Sebring GT front and of a Dutch Lenham backed car with a Sebring GT front both contacted the Register in November 2008 - we still await more details.

Alistair Gilchrist in Glasgow is currently restoring an original W&P manufactured Sebring GT front and when fitted to his car it will be added to the Register.

Paul Gavan in Australia has contacted us about a Mk 2 Sprite with Sebring GT front, and we await more details.

There is a midget in France undergoing restoration with a Sebring GT hardtop, we hope to have more details soon (Spring 2009).

One of Tom Coulthard's relatives has a Sebring GT front in storage.

There was also a loose Sebring GT front resident in Canada about 3 years ago, but its whereabouts sadly is currently unknown.

A grey Sebring GT front in Bournemouth was advertised on ebay in early 2009.

Racer Nik Handford has a Sebring GT front in storage which he intends to restore and fit to a race car soon.

We have been contacted in early 2010 about a Sebring GT front complete with fairings with claimed connections to a famous car which we are currently investigating.
